Have the NFL custom jerseys improved?
Last season I got my girlfriend a custom NE Patriots Lawrence Maroney jersey because they didn’t have any real jerseys in the size she wanted. When we got it, the numbers and name were different in feel and texture from regular jerseys in that they were “puffy” or raised off the surface of the jersey instead of screen printed. She had gotten a custom jersey once before and the numbers and name were screen printed. It was like the NFL Shop tried a different method of customization.
This wouldn’t be a problem if the new way didn’t result in cracks in the numbering. It got washed once before the numbers started showing signs of wear.
Well, now she wants a Wes Welker jersey, and the DO have a pre-made jersey in the size she wants (youth), but the design is different from the adult size, so I’m thinking the custom route is the next option.
Has anyone customized a jersey recently, and have they gone back to screen printing the numbers, or are they still the low quality, puffy numbers?

Where can I get a custom NBA or NFL jersey made without having to stick to the naming guidelines?
